Alfredo, Basic (Sauce) LC-7.2/s(6) Categories: none 1/2 cup butter 1 pkg (08 oz) cream cheese 2 teaspoon garlic powder 2 cup milk 6 ounce Parmesan; grated 1/8 teaspoon pepper Melt butter in a medium, non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Add cream cheese and garlic powder, stirring with wire whisk until smooth. Add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps. Stir in Parmesan and pepper. Remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency. Sauce will thicken rapidly, thin with milk if cooked too long. Serve over meat of choice, or toss with hot vegetables. Notes: Using light cream cheese instead of regular will drop 45 calories and 7 grams of fat, and will add 1 carb.
